Bhubaneswar(9/8) :On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwas Vidyalaya, Alarpur, Bhubaneswar, organised an Organ Donation Awareness Programme at its premises to sensitise the community about the noble cause of organ donation and its immense potential to save human lives.
Above 100 people participated enthusiastically in the programme. Session was conducted by Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi, Organ Donation Ambassador, MOHAN Foundation, who spoke on the importance of organ donation, the need to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding donation, and the role that every individual can play in giving hope and a new lease of life to patients awaiting transplantation.
Centre-in-Charge, Brahma Kumari Tapaswini, delivered an insightful talk highlighting the significance of organ donation as a noble humanitarian act. She emphasised that a conscious decision to donate organs after death can transform grief into hope and enable several critically ill persons to receive the precious gift of life.

President, Bar Association, Bhubaneswar, participated as the Chief Guest and appreciated the significance of Organ Donation.
A major attraction of the programme was an on-the-spot online demonstration of the organ donation pledge registration process. Dr. Sarangi guided the participants through the digital registration procedure and demonstrated how individuals can make their pledge online. Participants were encouraged to register their voluntary pledges and communicate their decision to their family members.
Pamphlets and Organ Donor Cards of MOHAN Foundation (Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network), along with specially prepared awareness handouts, were distributed among the participants to provide them with authentic and practical information about organ donation and transplantation.
Programme also highlighted the humanitarian message that one donor can potentially save and transform multiple lives. Participants were encouraged to look beyond individual concerns and consider organ donation as an expression of selfless love, compassion, service and human values.
BK Aparajita , BK Santosh, BK Bimbadhar, BK Sukanti, BK Dinabandhu, BK Sanjaya, BK Nirupama other Brahma Kumar and Brahma Kumari members actively participated in the programme and contributed to its successful organisation. Their active involvement, along with the enthusiastic response of the participants, reflected the growing awareness and willingness within the community to support the cause of organ donation.
Programme concluded with a collective resolve to spread awareness about organ donation, encourage informed decision-making, and inspire more people to pledge their organs for the service of humanity.
