Kolkata (16/9): With profound sorrow, the Ramakrishna Mission has announced the passing away of Swami Brajeshanandaji Maharaj, popularly known as Achintya Maharaj, at Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan, Kolkata, on September 16, 2026, at around 11:55 a.m.
The news of his passing has brought a deep sense of loss to devotees, admirers and well-wishers associated with the Ramakrishna Order. Swami Brajeshanandaji Maharaj was respected for his spiritual life, dedicated service and association with the ideals and activities of the Ramakrishna Mission.
His demise marks the end of a life devoted to spirituality, service and the welfare of humanity. Monks, devotees and followers have expressed their condolences and paid their respects to the departed monk.
