Balasore, July 8 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The Rath Edition of the children’s magazine Kichirimichiri, published from Balasore, was unveiled on July 7 at the premises of Srashta Natyalaya in Makalpur.
The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Sahitya Akademi Award-winning playwright Hemendra Mahapatra. Distinguished researcher and essayist Dr. Radharanjan Pattnaik, eminent children’s writer Brajendra Nath Giri, novelist and Editor-in-Chief of Dhwani Pratidhwani Srustidhar Parida, and Dr. Laxmikanta Tripathy, Secretary of the Odia Bhasha Bikash Andolan, attended as guests of honour. They jointly released the magazine and spoke on the importance of children’s literature, emphasising the need for quality publications for young readers. The speakers praised the initiative of Pitambar Das in launching the magazine and congratulated its editor, Monalisa Pradhan, for her efforts.
The programme began with an introductory address by poet Padmalochan Pradhan, who welcomed the guests to the dais. Chief Editor Pitambar Das outlined the vision behind the publication, stating that the magazine aims to enrich children’s literature in Balasore and provide a creative platform for young readers and aspiring writers. He also acknowledged the support extended by publisher Kamal Das.
The event was coordinated by poets Ramesh Chandra Behera, Gouri Shankar Sahani, Kalyani Nanda, Shanti Bishi, Shantilata Panda, and Sukanta Das.

The function was attended by a large number of poets, writers, and intellectuals, including Natabar Padhi, Dr. Sarangadhar Tripathy, Sarbeswar Panda, Niranjan Raut, Prabhakar Sahu, Ramakanta Mahanti, Ramprasad Pradhan, Ajaya Raul, Debashish Singh, Laxman Biswal, Laxmidhar Jena, Jayanti Behera, Sunamani Jena, Pushpalata Chakraborty, Basanti De, Triptirani Patra, Subrata Mahanti, Snigdha Samantaray, Sangeeta Barik, Jumaranath Patra, Pushpita Padhi, Dibakar Mahanti, Samarai Kar, Ratikanta Mallik, Prasanna Kumar Das, Madan Mohan Sahu, and several other literary personalities.
