Anandam Foundation Celebrates 12th International Day of Yoga at IIM Calcutta

Kolkata(22/6): On the occasion of the 12th International Day of Yoga, Anandam Foundation organized a grand Yoga session at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) on 21st June, Sunday 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and karyakartas of Anandam Foundation.

Dr. Arun Kumar Upadhyay, serving as the Yoga instructor, guided all participants through the Common Yoga Protocol with precision and clarity. The Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation sessions were effectively demonstrated by Shri Biplab Mohapatra, Shri Subhodip Hudait, and Smt. Kamla Banua Debnath, ensuring everyone could follow with ease.

The program was graced by the presence of Shri Manoj Das, General Secretary of Anandam Foundation and Smt. Suparna Hudayat, who attended the session as observers and appreciated the discipline of the participants.

Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Director of IIMC, addressed the gathering. In his insightful speech, he highlighted the immense physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of Yoga in modern life. He emphasized how regular Yoga practice can help students and professionals manage stress and enhance focus.

Shri Vijay Singh Virat, Chief Administrative Officer of IIMC, extended a formal vote of thanks to all dignitaries, participants, and the organizing team of Anandam Foundation for making the event successful.

The entire program was smoothly anchored by Shri Ishu Chaudhary and Shri Harshawardhan Devsoth, who kept the session engaging and well-coordinated.

A total of 112 people attended the celebration, including students, faculty members, and karyakartas of Anandam Foundation. The event concluded on a positive note, spreading the message of “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.
