Kolkata (21/9):On the occasion of the United Nations’ International Day of Peace, Pragyan Foundation celebrated International Day of Peace on 21st September 2026 at Pragyan Bhavan with a seminar dedicated to promoting peace, unity, harmony and collective well-being.
The programme commenced with a Vedic Peace Prayer, led by Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, President of Pragyan Foundation. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Agarwal explained the history and significance of the International Day of Peace and highlighted the importance of cultivating peace not only at the global level but also in our individual lives, families and communities. He also shared several practical suggestions for bringing greater joy, harmony and peace into everyday life and contributing towards a peaceful society.

The seminar witnessed the participation of eminent academicians and distinguished personalities from various fields. Prof Samir Das of University of Calcutta, Dr. Prosenjit Mukherjee of Bangawasi College, Dr. Shubhajit Maity of Arambagh College, Dr. Ashok Kumar Chowdhury, Mr. R. R. Agarwal, Om Prakash Mishra and many others shared their thoughts and perspectives on the importance of international peace and the collective responsibility of individuals and communities in building a peaceful world.
Among those present at the seminar were Mr. Asish Basak, Dr. Namita Chakraborty, Dr. P.K.Pramanik, Dr. Chandranath Bhattacharya,Ms. Geeta Sinha, Ms.Rita Dhar, Mr. Jayanta Kumar Das, Mr. Subher Konti Roy, Ms. Anita Saha, Ms.Ratna Sen, Mr. Shikha Mitra, Ms. Chandra Chatterjee, Mr. Jitendra Yadav, Mr.Pramod Gupta, Mr. Prem V. The seminar concluded with all the participants taking a pledge to remain united, maintain peace and harmony among themselves, and contribute towards creating a more peaceful world.
