Kolkata (31/7): Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal was conferred the prestigious Bharat Kesari Sammaan 2026 by the International Society for Skill Education and Research on July 29, 2026, at Surendranath Evening College, Kolkata, in recognition of his dedicated efforts to promote and propagate the rich heritage of India’s Civilisational Heritage through the timeless wisdom of the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga and Meditation.
Dr. Agarwal has been a consistent upholder of India’s ancient knowledge traditions and their relevance in modern life. Through his work in Yoga, meditation, holistic health, education and spiritual development, he has been striving to reconnect people, particularly the younger generation, with India’s profound civilisational wisdom and cultural values.
Dr. Agarwal received the award from Dr. Pankaj Kumar Ray, Principal of Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College, and Dr. Jafor Ali Akhan, Principal of Surendranath College. The occasion was also graced by Dr. Samir Das, General Secretary of ISSER and Officer of the University of Calcutta; Dr. Sanjib Chatterjee, Principal of Bangabasi College; Dr. Madan Mohan Jana, along with several teachers and students from various colleges.
His recognition with the Bharat Kesari Sammaan 2026 reflects his commitment to preserving and taking forward the Indian Culture, Tradition and Knowledge System, rooted in the country’s spiritual and intellectual heritage, advocated by Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, whose vision emphasised the importance of India’s cultural roots and intellectual heritage in strengthening the nation’s identity.
