Bhubaneswar (12/8) :A 10-Crore Drug-Free Pledge Campaign (10 Crore Nashamukti Pratigyan Maha Abhiyan) was organised at the Veterinary Officers’ Training Institute (VOTI), Bhubaneswar, on 10th August 2026 with the joint support of the Government of India and Brahma Kumaris, as part of the nationwide movement towards building a drug-free and healthy society.
Programme was attended by Dr. Mihir Kumar Nayak, Additional Director (Poultry), DAH & VS; Dr. Sarat Kumar Mishra, Joint Director, VOTI; Dr. Gitanjali Das, Assistant Director, State Feed Analytical Laboratory; Trainees of the Institute; BK Tapaswini, Centre-in-Charge of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar; BK Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi, and other members of the Brahma Kumaris fraternity.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi highlighted the distinction between the soul and the physical body and explained how strengthening the inner self and developing spiritual awareness can help individuals remain away from intoxicating substances and overcome addiction. He emphasised the importance of self-awareness, inner strength, positive thinking and meditation in leading a healthy and addiction-free life.
BK Susmita presented a self-composed poem on de-addiction and the harmful effects of substance abuse, which added an inspiring and emotional dimension to the programme.
BK Tapaswini conducted a short meditation session for the officers and trainees and subsequently administered the Drug-Free India Pledge, motivating everyone to consciously stay away from drugs and other intoxicating substances and to contribute towards creating a healthier society.
Programme was conducted in a disciplined and meaningful manner, leaving a positive and inspiring impact on all the participants. As a gesture of goodwill and spiritual blessings, Prasad and Blessings Cards were distributed to all those present.
Programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Sarat Kumar Mishra, Joint Director, VOTI. The proceedings were efficiently coordinated by Dr. Gitanjali Das, Assistant Director, State Feed Analytical Laboratory.
The initiative reinforced the collective commitment of the participants towards the vision of a Drug-Free India and encouraged them to become ambassadors of awareness, self-discipline and positive living in their respective communities.Reported by Sanatan Mahakud.
