Kolkata (10/7): A thought-provoking and highly interactive session on “Yoga off the Mat” was conducted by Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, President of Pragyan Foundation, at Abanindra Sabhaghar, Rabindra Sadan Complex, Kolkata. The programme was organised by the Lions Club of Kolkata Magnates on 9th July 2026.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Agarwal emphasised that yoga is not confined to postures and breathing practices alone. He remarked, “Yoga is 90% off the Mat”, highlighting the importance of applying yogic principles such as awareness, discipline, balance, compassion, and mindful living in everyday life.
In addition to delivering an engaging lecture, Dr. Agarwal conducted a practical demonstration session in which he guided participants through simple techniques and exercises that can be incorporated into daily routines. The audience actively participated in the demonstrations and interacted enthusiastically throughout the programme. Many attendees expressed that the session was extremely helpful, practical, and inspiring.
The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests and participants, including Dr. A. P. Maurya, Adv. Pradeep P. N. Singh Ray, Dr. Sahidul Islam, Shri Om Prakash Mishra, Mr. Vinod Vijaywargi, Shri Nimai Krishna Das, Dr. Namita Chakraborty, Jyotsna Dutta, Tapas Saha, Indrani Halder, Dr. C. N. Bhattacharya, and many others.
