PM Modi and RSS Pay Tribute to Shri A. Balakrishnan

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Shri A. Balakrishnan, former All India President of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari. The Prime Minister remembered Shri Balakrishnan’s more than five decades of dedicated service to society and his deep association with the Northeast.

Prime Minister Modi said that Shri Balakrishnan devoted more than five decades of his life to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and to the service of society. His dedication, commitment and spirit of service inspired countless people.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has also expressed its deep condolences on his demise. In a condolence message, RSS Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale remembered Shri Balakrishnan as a living embodiment of Karma Yoga.

Shri Balakrishnan dedicated his entire life to spreading the message of Swami Vivekananda—of universal brotherhood, service to humanity and service to the nation. He was among the first-generation members of the dedicated Jeevan Vrati cadre of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, and played an important role in carrying forward the work and ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

His simple life, selfless service, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to national values will continue to inspire social workers and the younger generation. His passing is a great loss to society, which has lost a dedicated and noble servant.

The RSS offered its humble tribute to the departed soul and prayed to the Almighty for the eternal peace and salvation of Shri Balakrishnan. It also conveyed heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, colleagues and followers.
