Hanoi, Vietnam | August 16, 2026: In a significant recognition of India’s contribution to the global movement of Yoga and holistic health, Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi, noted Yoga and holistic wellness practitioner, Master Trainer and National Resource Person, has been conferred the prestigious “International Yogshree Award” in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Award was presented in recognition of Dr. Sarangi’s outstanding contributions to the promotion and advancement of Yoga at both national and international levels. Honour was presented during a historic international Yoga gathering in Hanoi in the presence of distinguished representatives and Yoga delegates from India and Vietnam.
Award was jointly instituted by the National Institute of Holistic Health (NIIH), SKM Yoga and Yoga Song Khoe, acknowledging Dr. Sarangi’s sustained efforts towards taking Yoga, holistic health and wellness education to wider sections of society and promoting the universal message of Yoga beyond geographical boundaries.
A total of 40 Yoga delegates from India participated in the historic event, making it an important platform for strengthening India–Vietnam cooperation in the fields of Yoga, holistic health and wellness. The participation of the Indian delegation reflected the growing international acceptance of India’s ancient Yoga tradition as a powerful means of promoting physical, mental and holistic well-being.
The honour assumes special significance as Dr. Sarangi was recognised by the Minister of Sports, Government of Vietnam, marking a memorable moment of international appreciation for his work and contribution to Yoga.


A Dedicated Journey of Yoga and Holistic Wellness
Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi has been actively associated with Yoga, Naturopathy, Holistic Health, Human Values and Professional Training for several years. As a Master Trainer and National Resource Person, he has contributed extensively to capacity building, experiential learning and the dissemination of wellness-oriented practices among diverse groups.
His work combines the traditional wisdom of Yoga and naturopathy with contemporary approaches to human development, wellness, behavioural transformation and holistic living. Through training programmes, awareness campaigns, workshops and international engagements, he has worked to make Yoga a practical tool for healthier individuals, harmonious families and a healthier society.
Dr. Sarangi has also been actively involved in promoting Yoga as a way of life rather than merely a physical exercise, emphasising its wider dimensions relating to mental well-being, emotional balance, self-discipline, human values and holistic development.
His association with national-level training initiatives and wellness organisations has enabled him to reach a wide range of participants, including government officials, professionals, educators, students and community groups.

Award ceremony also provided an important opportunity to strengthen the cultural and wellness relationship between India and Vietnam through the universal language of Yoga.
