Kolkata(20/2) : Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of its distinguished alumnus, from the Department of Biotechnology, Mr. Saptarshi Biswas, who is part of a pioneering research team at Texas A&M University, USA, that has developed an innovative biomaterial capable of rapidly controlling life-threatening internal bleeding caused by traumatic injuries.

This novel hemostatic biomaterial dressing represents a significant advancement in trauma care, particularly for deep internal injuries where conventional treatment methods are limited. The breakthrough has the potential to transform emergency medical response and save countless lives globally. It has the potential to stop internal blood clot within 1 minute whereas conventional method takes 7 minutes.
