State Level Yoga & Naturopathy Training Camp Inspires Youth Towards Holistic Living

Balasore : A three-day State Level Yoga & Naturopathy Training Camp concluded successfully at Ayushman Bhavan, Gopalgaon, Balasore, bringing together students, NSS volunteers and health enthusiasts from various institutions. The 3 day residential training camp was organised from 14th to 16th March 2026, nearly 200 students, 20 programme officers from 15 universities & colleges were participated with great joy.

Programme was sponsored by the State NSS Cell, Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, supported by Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar, and organised by the Institute of Nature Cure & Yogic Science, Chidiapolo, Balasore.

Camp aimed to promote awareness about Yoga, Naturopathy, preventive healthcare and holistic lifestyle among youth.

Inaugural session on the first day was graced by several distinguished dignitaries. Among the prominent guests were Shri Sudhakar Nayak, ADM, Smt. Manorama Bhuyan, Registrar of Fakir Mohan Medical College, Shri Sandeep Rout, NSS Coordinator of Utkal University of Culture, Shri Purna Chandra Pati, Former Scientist of ITR, and Shri Gouranga Panda, Former NSS District Programme Officer. Their inspiring addresses emphasised the importance of Yoga, Naturopathy and a value-based lifestyle for building a healthy society.

Event was presided over by Dr. Chittaranjan Sahu, Head of the Institute of Nature Cure & Yogic Science, while Smt. Debiarchana Das, Principal, played a pivotal role in the overall planning, coordination and smooth management of the training camp.

The mornings began with prayer, yoga and meditation sessions conducted by Dr. Chittaranjan Sahu, who guided participants through practical yogic techniques for physical and mental well-being.

A major highlight of the camp was the scientific educational sessions delivered by eminent experts.
Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi, President of INO Odisha and Regional Convenor (Eastern India), delivered inspiring sessions on “Natural Therapeutics for 100 Years of Life – Role of Consciousness for Holistic Living,” “Living Without Medicine,” and “Make Mind Your Best Friend.” In his address, he emphasised that true health is achieved through harmony between body, mind and consciousness, supported by disciplined lifestyle and natural living.

Other distinguished speakers included Dr. Bhagaban Bhuyan, Consultant in Integrated Medicine and former Assistant Professor associated with Dong Seoul University, South Korea, who spoke on “Stress Management & Integrated Medicine.”

Sanatan Mohakud, poet & Yoga Expert from Kolkata, delivered an inspiring lecture on “Yoga for Youth & Personality Development.”
Dr. Gyan Ranjan Behera, Senior Gynecologist from FM Medical College, explained the scientific relevance of yoga in modern healthcare in his session on “Yoga & Medical Science.”

On the second day, Smt. Kanti Krisna Panigrahi coordinated a Yoga & Naturopathy Competition and evaluation programme, encouraging participants to demonstrate their knowledge and practical skills. Smt. Anita Mishra spoke on “Ashtanga Yoga in Patanjali.” A special session on Meditation & Mind Relaxation was conducted by BK Minati Sister from Brahmakumari Rajyoga Center.

Camp also included a Yoga Awareness Rally, Meditation practices, Yoga competitions and cultural programmes, creating an enthusiastic and participatory learning atmosphere.

Programme concluded with a Valedictory Function, where organisers appreciated the active participation of students and volunteers and emphasised the need to adopt yoga and naturopathy as a way of life for a healthier society.
