Dr. S. K. Agarwal Calls for End to War in Middle East, Advocates World Peace on World Happiness Day.

Kolkata (21/3): A meaningful and thought-provoking celebration of World Happiness Day was organised by Pragyan Foundation on Friday 20th March, 2026 at Pragyan Bhawan, Kolkata, where a strong message of global harmony and peace was delivered.

Dr. S. K. Agarwal, President of Pragyan Foundation, in his address, called for an immediate end to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and urged world leaders to work collectively towards establishing lasting peace. Emphasising the true essence of happiness, he highlighted that global peace, compassion, and unity are the foundations of a harmonious world.

The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Most Venerable Bishwajit Bhikkhu, a recipient of the prestigious Dharmaduta Award, who spoke about the importance of inner peace, mindfulness, and universal brotherhood in achieving true happiness.

A key highlight of the event was the release of the book “The Reinvention of Happiness”, co-authored by Dr. S. K. Agarwal and Engineer Ram Ratan Agarwal. The book explores the deeper dimensions of happiness and offers practical insights into leading a balanced and fulfilling life.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Sahidul Islam, Prof. Pratapranjan Das, Adv. Masud Karim, Dr. Salil Kumar Roy, Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dr. A. P. Maurya, Venerable Riddhipal Bhikkhu, Bodhijyoti Bhikkhu, Shuropala Bhikkhu, Mahesh Barman, Mr. Chandan Agarwal, CEO of Pragyan Foundation, Dr. Sailesh Basu, Geeta Sinha, Dr. Namita Chakraborty, Sarita Jaiswal, Dr. Arijit Neogi, Adv. The celebration also marked the observance of the Hindu New Year, symbolising new beginnings, positivity, and hope. Extending the spirit of inclusiveness and harmony, warm wishes were also conveyed on the occasion of Eid, reflecting the message of unity in diversity.
